CERTIFICATE IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE (FETAC Level 5)

The 12-week Certificate in International Trade programme was designed to enable learners to operate effectively in an export department and to understand its role on a company. The focus is on the theoretical knowledge underlying international trade and on the practical duties undertaken in that department or section. It is intended to prepare the learner for further education or training or employment in an exporting environment.
For the classroom based course, classes will be held on Wednesdays from 0630PM to 0920PM, plus revision classes for exams on other days.

- To be familiar with the fifferent modes of transport available to an exporter
- To be aware of the export/import procedures for different markets

Assessment
There are Assignments (2) and Examination (1) for this course. Pass mark is 50%. For Merit, more than 64% is required, and more than 79% for Distinction.

Progression
A recommended progression path for the Certificate in International Trade course is the Professional Diploma in Global Trade and e-Business, awarded by IITI (Irish Institute of International Trade). Also, this FETAC Component Certificate course can be combined with other modules leading to a Major Award in the National Framework of Qualifications.

Awards
The certification is awarded by FETAC - Level 5 Component Certificate in International Trade Practice (B20143).

This course is available on a classroom basis or by distance learning. Course content and assessment are exactly the same for both.
