The Institute's newly appointed president, Dr. Christina Gates emphasised to new Graduates that they have achieved a qualification in a key Industry Practice programme and are now poised to contribute to Ireland's increasingly international market.

The Professional Diploma in Global Trade and E-Business programme provides global businesses with trained professionals who have the necessary skills to contribute effectively to the expanding international trading environment. Management development opportunities for graduates include areas in International Trade, Financial Management, Logistics & Supply Chain, e-Business, and International Marketing and Trade Compliance. This programme also guides graduates in the research and development of comprehensive Marketing and Global Trade Projects, which in many cases, have formed the basis for their future career progression.

Tom Kelly from Enterprise Ireland, presented Sile Cotter from Export Edge Business College with the top award in the Professional Diploma in global Trade and E-business. Tom Kelly said "It is my special pleasure to announce the winner of the Gold Medal for the Best Student in the Professional Diploma in Global Trade and e-Business. The winner is from Export Edge College in Dublin's Merrion Square. She obtained A grade marks in 7 modules of the Professional Diploma, the highest result among all of the students, a truly remarkable achievement and was recommended by her college Director, Austin Rutledge."

Tom remarked "professional and skilled personnel in sales and marketing functions in Irish exporting firms will be essential for Enterprise Ireland's ambitious targets to be realised over the coming years. It is for that reason we want to encourage the work of the Irish Exporters Association and are delighted to sponsor the Graduate Awards of the Institute of International Trade of Ireland."
